The Cheyenne Mountain School District is located in the southwest corner of beautiful Colorado Springs, nestled against the base of Cheyenne Mountain. The district serves approximately 4,600 students in preschool through twelfth grades, and encompasses a preschool, 5 elementary schools for grades 1-6, one junior high school for grades 7-8, one high school for grades 9-12, and a charter school for grades K-12.
Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 is the highest-ranked large school district in Colorado, and is has an Accredited with Distinction rating from the Colorado Department of Education. Being at or near the top of all schools in Colorado and in the nation for academic achievement is the result of students who come to school ready to learn, strong parent and community participation and support, and outstanding teachers, administrators, and a board of education who are committed to providing an environment conducive to all aspects of learning. Approximately 90% of District 12 high school graduates go on to college, with many attending the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation.
